Trauma-Informed Acupuncture & Herbs

Ebudae Acupuncture and Herbs, PLLC, is the clinical practice of Jo Vance, LAc (they/them). In my practice, my goal is to meet you where you are, using the tools within East Asian Medicine to support you and your health.

East Asian Medicine has many lineages of practice that have developed throughout its history, so there are many tools to choose from, including acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, cupping, and bodywork such as Tuina or Shiatsu. The beauty of this medicine is how it takes into account the whole person, allowing me to build a personalized treatment plan for each patient.

About the Acupuncturist

Hi there! Thanks for being here. My name is Jo Vance (they/them), and I’m a licensed acupuncturist with a MAcEAM degree from the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. In my practice, I use gentle techniques from within the traditions of Japanese Acupuncture and Classical Chinese Medicine. This includes non-insertive tools like the teishin, so I can provide needle-free treatments if needed.

I have received additional training in trauma-informed care from The Breathe Network and by studying with Kate Busby, LAc, in her course, Trauma-Informed Acupuncture Primer: Healing with Relational Medicine. I hold deep gratitude for the teachers and mentors who have guided my study of East Asian Medicine and its many lineages.

With a MFA in Poetry, I’m also a writer. My love of poetry and nature drew me to study East Asian Medicine, since it holds a deeply poetic understanding of the human body and our connection to the earth.

When I have free moments, you’ll find me gardening, hiking, swimming, cooking, and curling up with a good book. Any outside activity makes me happy, and I love chatting books and writing any chance I get. My partner and I live on Vashon and are grateful to be part of this community.
